The Poets light but Lamps BY EMILY DICKINSON

Los poetas encienden lámparas nada más—

Ellos, por su parte se —extinguen—

Las Mechas que ellos encienden —

Siendo una luz vital

Son inherentes como son los Soles—

Cada Época una lente

Que disemina su

Circunferencia—

                                                 Traducción: Amalia Rodríguez Monroy

The Poets light but Lamps —

Themselves — go out —
The Wicks they stimulate
If vital Light

Inhere as do the Suns —
Each Age a Lens
Disseminating their
Circumference —

Emily Dickinson mujeres poetas norteamericanas
